Both wrong ... it's an Armenter, and unfortunately, it's one very rare cigar, and very difficult to find.

The last production of those (both domestic, and the
ones with the Cuban fillers) I believe (if I've got my date correct) was in 1987 ... and I only have a handful of them left. I save them for special occasions!

The Armenter's were made on the Canary Island. And, because of the high cost of production ... you will rarely find any more cigars made from the Canary Island ... because they no longer grow or produce tobacco there anymore.

They produced two different Armenter cigars for export, one for U.S. export and the other for European export.

The ones for European export, they imported the filler and binder from Cuba (nothing fancy, just farm tobacco) ... and the ones destined for the U.S., had
only Canary Island leaves. Both had Canary Island wrappers, though. The one octowings smoked was the 'european' export ... with what is now, 16 year old Cuban tobacco filler and binder.

Many years ago, several boxes 'somehow' ended up in the U.S. ... and sat in a lawyers vault for many years while the intended buyers went through lengthy litigation. Apparently, many years had passed ... they were forgotten about, and the time had come for the lawyer who had them ... to make them to 'go away'.

A friend of mine who owns a cigar store in Minnesota, bought what he had, and at the time, myself (and a few other 'oldtimers' here), were able to aquire a few boxes. That was three or four years ago ... so they are all long gone.

Got to admit ... for a mild to medium cigar ... it sure is one tasty sucker, and still packs that Cuban punch!
