i have a few plain old ashtrays for my everyday cheapos. the one on the right and other similar ones are for those smokes.

the one on the left, 14 lbs of cut glass crystal, a monte special a few years ago, the something you buy because you had a good week or month or year, that is an indulgence you have earned.

one doesn't smoke a good cigar in an ashtray not worthy of it's ashes.

Rick, you are the one. If not the only one. That is a great looking ashtray. Well done!

I've never thought about seperate ash trays for cigars of differing quality, but I don't let anyone put cigarette ashes or butts in my cigar ashtray ...

Nope, but I put the existing ones through the dishwaser to sterilize.

For my really expensive cigars, I use the flower bed next to my patio table. (Being that I rarely set the cigar down.) My everyday cheapos get the ashes tossed in the flower bed but with less flair and technique.
I guess that's keeping Kosher.

I know what you mean. I have a Cohiba ashtray I bought in the Keys. Only special ashes go in there...lol.
