Do these things really work. I have occasion to smoke on the road sometimes and come back to the same cigar a couple hours later. will this gimmack help?

Mine works great. I bought one last year and it can hold a used stick for a couple of days with no problem.

Its a great investment if you don't get a chance to finish your stick in one sitting.

Never tried one. I can see relighting after an hour (maybe two) but a couple of days just sounds nasty.
Just my opinion. I prefer to keep a supply of short smokes (petites/coffee breaks etc.)for those times when I can't smoke a large one unmolested.

Not a gimmick ... I've been using mine for years now ... and it does exactly what it claims it will do.

The key is to 'purge' your cigar before putting it away ... and the instructions for doing that comes with it.

I have had one for years and also like it. Not long ago I picked up one of those big clips off the auction site. The cigar is not as well protected, just being out in the open, but the cigar seems to stay a little fresher. If I need to throw the cigar in my briefcase, then of course I use the Cigar Savor.

Glad I read this post. I have always been skeptical that these things would really work, but now I am going to give one a try.

I think the cigar savor works extremely well, particularly protecting the cigar until the next lighting. As is probably the case with most people nowadays I work in a smoke-free environment so use it fairly frequently. However, it may just be me, I've found that about three lightings is the max I can get on a cigar and it still taste half-way decent, cigar savor or not.

Yeah ... same with me.

arwings --- do you purge your cigars before putting them away?

... it really makes a difference!

Mine did not come with instructions, what do you do to purge it? Mine works pretty well, but if I leave it for more then one day the taste seems off?

Blow.
Hmmm, that sounds like a rude post.
How about reverse flow?

PS- I still do not save and relight. The rest of the world can chill while I finish my smoke.

Slim,

Haven't tried the purging bit. Have heard of it (I think) in the remote past (at my age anything prior to this morning is the remote past). However, based on advice on this post, I believe I will give it a try. Just need to remember which end to blow in.
