You could not ask these players to advertise a joint idea on a regular basis - go figure!

Those are MY BOYS !!!!!

Gladstone Coke - a talented receiver/back AND
Curtis Head - our punter

from THE MARSHALL UNVERSITY THUNDERING HERD !!!!!!
The best non-BCS football program in America.....(5 straight bowl victories in 6 years in Division 1-A; Winingest team of the 90s in Division I; stuck in the MAC, but have won the East division every year since we've been there, and won the conference 5 out of 6 years; multiple national rankings, including a season ending 10th in 1999. 2 Heisman finalists (should've been 3, Byron Leftwich) in 5 years, etc etc etc)

Coke is still on the squad, but Curtis has graduated and is punting for the pros....

It was only a joke. You did prove the picture was not staged though. Thank for the info too. I will post one of a Texas team that you might find a little more amusing. Look for "loose ball".

NO offense taken, it was funny.
Those are just my boyz, I have actually met both of them.
When you are in rural WV, you get kinda stoked (kinda?, OK, REAL stoked) when you see even ANY mention of your team outside of your hometown paper.

Since we are not in a BCS conference, we get little attention and are shut out (via the contracts) of any decent BCS bowl games.

Don't get me started on THAT rant....

No offense, but Marshall is FAR from being in any BCS contention. Beating up on the current members of the MAC in no way justifies being in a BCS bowl. I say let them in the ACC, Big East, or (God help them) the SEC. Then let's see how many W's they pull down! And, if they dominate, then, and only then, they "deserve" a BCS bowl. Running from LSU did not bolster my respect for them as a quality program.....and, they did run.

BUT, I will grant you: They are a quality program....just not BCS material.

That reminds me of the first road game between the A&M Aggies and LSU: The team bus is rolling down I-10 to Tiger Stadium and got to the exit sign which read "LSU Left" so they did too - LOL.

Consider offense taken.

Would LSU beat us? In their stadium with their refs, I'd give that a 90% chance of happening. In our stadium with our refs? I give Marshall a 75% chance of winning. WE are closer than you think....

We are playing TN at TN, we played Mich State at Mich State (lost by 10). We played UNC at UNC (lost by 10). Yes, we got spanked by top ten at the time VaTech last year. We have handily beaten BYU and Louisville. We have beaten Clemson and South Carolina (in their stadiums of course). We are the best program in the country not in a BCS conference. No BCS conference team will even give us a 2 for 1.

I agree, I don't know why MU pulled out of the LSU game. I think it had us scheduling Ohio State, LSU, and Georgia all back to back and all on the road. Has LSU ever had to play 3 road games back to back of that caliber? All, of course, with THEIR conference officals?

Does the MAC suck? Yes. That's why we want out so bad. Is the MAC better than CUSA? Actually the head to head CUSA vs. MAC record is like 8-0 in favor of the MAC the last 2 or 3 years running. Could Marshall compete in the Big East? Good question.

Rutgers? yeah, almost every year
Temple? yeah, almost every year
WVU? yeah, about 60% of the time
Boston College? about 50% of the time
Pitt? about 50% of the time
Syracuse? about 40% of the time
Va Tech? About 30% of the time
Miami? Wellllllll.......on any given day.....
Replacing them with Louisville? YUMMY. we are 3-0 against Louisville (once at their place and twice in bowls)

NO offense, I like LSU, but your program is NOT in a different stratosphere than ours. It is better, but not in a different stratosphere.

BTW, by BCS bowl, I didn't mean the BIG 4.... I mean all the lucrative ones like the Peach, etc. Heck, with the way the contracts are, we were 12-0 and nationally ranked in the top 20 in 1999, and couldn't get an invite to anywhere. We got the mighty Motor City bowl. (BTW, I believe we finished 10th in both polls that year)
