Yes it's natural. guy uses some nice wood specimens for this cigar poker.
It's use would be for a plugged cigar. the ash is a piece of Corian with a poker attached that goes in the wood cigar.

OK, excuse my ignorance, but I still have not figured this out. Is the wooden cigar just to hold the poker, or do you put your tobacco cigar in it as a protective sleeve while using the poker?

And yes, I always use a protective sleeve on anything I poke.
