Be sure and dress your kids in seasonal outfits and take pictures for them to appreciate when they get older.
These were my 2 oldest boys last year at Easter. The ears were not a big hit.

I remember when my mother dressed me up like a Easter bunny and paraded me for all her friends to see. I was crying all day long. Since that fateful day earlier this year, I still haven't enough strenth to show my face in public.

We had two bunny suits and a pumpkin suit. It was a good year when you got the pumpkin suit.
