I've visited SF a couple of times. I want to go back again. It was nice.

Sonny_LSU --- you're kidding ... right?

Most of the time, an AC would be nothing more than a 'conversation piece' in San Francisco ... LOL!

Remember Mark Twain's famous quote, "The coldest winter I ever spent, was summer in San Francisco."

Sonny - There's maybe 5% of homes that have AC in SF, and those are only the newer ones. It's hard for people to justify the cost when you know that there are only 5 days a year that you need it... The average temp in any month is never over 70 degrees.

Now you know why Chris was so 'white' in those pictures that were taken at the BAD Herf ... hehehe!

Soak up that sun while you can, dude ... 😉

Wow! From the end of May to the later part of September the high temp. never goes below 85 degrees and from June to August averages around 92 degrees. That is usually accompanied with 60+ % humidity!

Now, I'm jealous!

I hear ya Sonny!!! Been 90 in the shade here, hit a 104 this past week. Now it is cloudy with some rain today MUCH better.
You guys in SF got it made, we run the A/C damn near year round.

CWilhelmi writes: "The average temp in any month is never over 70 degrees."

I read where SF is the most moderate of all the major cities in the world inthat it has the least variation from the annual mean temperature, which in SF is 57.3 deg F ...

Over the course of the past 30 years, Sept has been, on average, the hottest month, with a mean of 63.9 and January has been the coldest with a mean of 49.4 ...

By way of contrast, during that same 30 years, Louisville, KY had an annual mean of 57.0, but varied more widely with January at 33.0 and July at 78.4 ...

Nawlins, incidentally had a annual mean of 68 with the coldest month also being Jan at 52.6 and the hottest being July at 82.7 ...

This without factoring in humidity which gives y'all in Nawlins an absolute need for A/C but leaves those of us in the SF area, as Slim & Chris pointed out, with virtually no need whatsoever ... but, since we're just now suffering through a couple of only a handful of days in which it is missed, we're whinin' about it ...

In the "summer" here there are routinely days where it doesn't get over 60 degrees. Very odd weather indeed!! I work in Concord where it was 103 yesterday and 100 today...
