I have one of the plastic tuff boxes. It holds 4 or 5 cigars. I keep it with me in my truck. I opened it today and it smelled of mold but there was no mold. I thought these were suppose to keep you cigars ready to smoke for awhile. Any ideas?

If you are talking about the Otterbox ... remember that these things are airtight ... and they can develop a 'musty' smell even if there isn't any visible mold.

They have to be opened every now and then, to air them out ...

Should I use the little humi thing that came with it or not?

My own experience with the Cigar Caddy has been that it will keep your cigars fresh for a long time, but not indefinitely. I've never had cigars stored in one long enough to use the built-in humidifier. I'd kind'a hesitate to use it simply because the box is airtight and to my mind it would be easy to over humidify your cigars. My other concern is that moisture could be "wicked" from the humidifier directly by the cigars, thereby ruining them. Just my thoughts. The "musty" smell is pretty common, particularly when I return from an overseas trip, but usally leaving it open for 48 - 72 hours will take care of the odor.

Bottom line ... if your cigars are already well humified, it is not necessary to charge the 'credo', if they are not going to be in there long.

If they are going to be in there for quite some time ... or the Otterbox is going to be in a 'high heat' (like sitting in a truck that is in the sun) situation ... I would charge it.

I have one of these I got from Cbid; came with 5 Perdomos and a lighter. I use it as a traveldor if I'm going somewhere for a few days. Ripped out the useless credo. Got some small humi-pouches that hold my 5 cigars perfectly and snuggly in this small otterbox. And humidification is perfect. No worries. Ultimate protection.
