I was looking at the CAO site and saw that you have to answer a question and send in bands. Does anyone know if the bands can be ANY CAO band? I didn't notice if it said.

CAO Petite Cigar bands are not eligible for this offer

like the ones on the small flavour CAO's? Also does everyone who answers correctly and sends in bands get a hat. How long does it usually take.

thanks guys.

I've been to the CAO site and cannot find a hat offer ... all I saw was their baseball caps

Have you seen these CAO hats? ... I'd love one of those high-quality panama hats like those guys wear in the Fuente pictures and I had NO idea CAO had any ... how many bands do you have to send in to get one?? It must be a lot, because a good panama hat sells for about $500 or $600 ...

CAO site off line for a while (message I received) but other offers have been under SWAG and usually require 5 CAO bands.

Their Website comes up OK for me ... under SWAG, there are several baseball caps ... nice ones, too ... 6 bands each ...

But no hats ... and I was sure wanting a nice panama hat

You ain't frum Texas are ya?
Caps have duck bill visor (IE baseball cap)
Hats have a brim that goes all the way around. Panama, Fedore, COWBOY HAT.

Difference between a hat and a cap is that a hat has a brim that goes all the way around, while a cap has a brim only in the front ...

Here's a Website featuring some nice Panama hats:
http://www.brentblack.com/

Here's one that features a lot of different caps:
http://www.capsized.com/

And, yes, I recognize that there's a great many people who use the words interchangeably ... but they aren't any more interchangeable in describing types of headwear than Robusto and Churchill are in describing cigar sizes ...

Unfortunately, I am the bearer of 'bad news.' While we never had any CAO 'Hats' on our 'swag' page, all of our CAO 'CAPS' are completely SOLD OUT.

Look for our CAO 'Double-Exposure' Cap Collection to be launched later this month.

I got a "Bullitt" cap thanks to Jon's generosity of donating some to the LV Herf.

Thanks again Jon...

I guess that makes sense. But, here in the north if it goes on your head its a hat.

What exactly is a scull cap then because it doesn't have any brim. And what about a winter hat that you wear when you ski (which might be a foreign concept for those of you in Texas).

Jon did you see the G3 thread and the proto-type thread on the pic board. What do you think?

Damn Jon, Boooooooooooooooooo as I was digging some CAO bands out of my display bottles.....tough job to do. Only got 2 out, but many are in there. Have them in Jack Daniels 1.75 ltr limited edition bottles. As if any of you care.....back to other stuff now.

" .. here in the north if it goes on your head its a hat."

Agreed ... that's quite true ... but common mis-use of words doesn't make them accurate ... the more you learn about their respective bacgrounds, the more you realize there's a huge similarity between fine hats and fine cigars IMO ... and calling all headwear "hats" is truly no different or more accurate than calling all cigars "panatellas".
