I assume that much of what we buy on Cbid is older stock that is left over from the cigar boom. This seems to be the source of the greatest deals, even though there are exceptions such as the Savinelli's currently being offered.

My question is, can we then expect that this older stock will be free of any beetles because the problem would already have appeared? I know that, perhaps, the cigars were never stored in a warm environment which would keep the little critters dormant, but, in general, should the lots not be free of the problem if they arrive that way? I want to put away a couple extra years supply in anticipation of bad developments with smoking and taxation litigation but am afraid to just let "sleeping dogs lie".

Maybe Cbid could comment on this because they have a thousand times more experience than we do.

Thanks

tandem401 --- although the staff monitors the posts ... sometimes they don't have the time to read through them all ...

... if you you want them to respond to you about this, send it to them directly, and they will respond in a very timely manner.

On the main page ... it's the one on the left side on the bottom that says 'Contact Customer Service'.

They would be the best source for the information you seek ...

Well, I think you're safe. There's only two of them now, and they're gettin' up there in age, so I don't think they'd beat on you like they would've say circa Hamburg era.

Ooooops! I just read that you meant bEEtles and not bEAtles. My bad.

Carry on, good luck and all that.

tandem401 - In my expereince with CI/Cbid I have not received one cigar that had the resemblance of bettles. I have been dealing with them over 5 years and to date I have not had a hatching.

Even though I had a large amount of my stash of gars stored at "High Risk" for an extended period of time while moving.

So, based upon my experience, I would say this is the best place to get gars for long term storage and Oh, yeah - did I mention the chepest place too??

Just my .02 cents.
