I have to share this experience with everyone here. I went on CAO website looking for a store in my area that I haven't gone to yet. If went throught the list and found one so I took a little ride. After drving forever and not finding the place (because you know I would never stop and ask for directions) I finally broke down and called. It turns out the the place I was looking for was a gas staion! I must have driven pas it a dozen times and not realized it. I figured, I drove for this long, I might as well go in. I opened the door and I was floored. It was more like a cigar store that sells gas!! He had everything that I could ever want including one of my favs (JDNA Belicoso for $3.95 each) He had Camacho Diplomas for a little over $5 a piece but the real find was the Dunhill Signed Range. I asked him how he got these because I thought they weren't in the U.S. yet. He told me that he was pretty tight with Dunhill and they gave only him three boxes to sell. All the boxes were from July of 2002, Needless to say, I got about 30 fantastic cigars and didn't have to break the bank to do it 🙂 Camacho is going to be at his store on the 25th of this month and he gave me and my friend an invite to the show. WOO HOO freebies 🙂 Sorry for the rambeling, I just had to tell someone.

I love stories like this.As close as I've found was my local guy in Eureka,Ca. who had a few bundles of 'Kings' supposedly old seconds of Casa Blancas. With the darkest yellow wrappers I've ever seen,I smoked one John gave me on the spot, then bought a handful. One of the tastiest mild cigars I've smoked.

And never saw them again.

Great story Kev. Enjoy the Camacho event, but just be careful where you light up. Talk about "bang" for the buck.

Well, I met Rocco over at the gas station for the Camacho showand it was fantastic! I learned a lot about the different tobacco leaves and what leaves they use for what. Plus, you can't beat the free smokes they were handing out (Camacho SLR) Then the big guns came out. He brought out the box of Liberty's. The tobacco used in these is aged for 5 years before they roll. Then they sit for about another year before they box them up. He also said that there was 10% pre-embargo tobacco in there. Weather or not thats true...who knows. All in all, it was a great time.

BTW - Rocco, Dan and I went back there right before the end of the show. We bought the rest of the Liberty's (about 😎 and he gave us the box that was signed by Christian Eiroa!! I'll post pictures tomorrow 🙂

Penguin,

Lots of beer will make you do that. For someone that was hesitent to purchase one stick, you really went all out. At least now you can store a couple of them for a while and see how they age.

I know this is late to the game but would this gas station/cigar store be in or near LaGrange,IL? If so, my buddy raves about this place and the prices he has quoted me are quite unbelievable for a retail shop
