I maybe somewhat of a newbie, but I thought I would share my favorites with you guys. I have been tokin' for a number months now, and I would say I have tried a fair amount of cigars in that time. Started with the usual beginner's gars, but after some time I have come to enjoy La Perla Classics, Nat Shermen’s Host Collection and CAO Gold respectively. La Perla being so far my #1 favorite. I would be interested any recommendations based off of these.

I have been reading the forum here also for a while and have picked up some great tidbits of info from all of you, so let me say, thanks. I plan to stop in more often with some words of my own.

How ya doin. I suggest the La Perla Black. I like the other la Perlas also.

You could try some of the San Luis Rey SLR's. Sounds like they might be right in you flavor profile.

I used to like those cao golds too, but try a brazilia! It is much better, besides, most cao's are over rated and over priced, especially the golds, and only for 20 counts?

I believe the nicest smoke for the money these days is the Trilogy Corojo Wrapper.

What are beginner cigars? Just wondering if I am still smoking what you would call begginer smokes.

As a beginner I was recommended; Macanudo, Baccarat, Arturo Fuente to name a few. I have quickly moved on from these, as you can see. I now actually have favorites for the "three times of the rule". Morning, afternoon and evening cigars. Very basically they start off mild in the AM, medium in the afternoon and full-bodied in the evening (usually after dinner). But heck, who follows the rules!

La Perla is a good cigar. I would recommend Indian Tabac Limited Reserve Bison or Buffalo for a nice mild smoke. Olivia O are good med body. If you want something unusual you might try Drew Estate Natural line for something different. It's fun trying out new cigars.
