Here's the critter. Amazingly enough, I put him in the freezer Saturday AM, when I got home Sunday afternoon, I took him out to snap this photo. He moved his antena... A hearty little beast!

String him up and display him in your humi as a warning to any other little bastards who try to get at your stash.

I've only ever seen a tobacco beetle once as it fell right out of the side of a cigar.

Yours looks huge in comparison and I don't remember all the antennae. I'm not too sure that is a tobacco beetle. Well, better safe than sorry.

Concur with HockeyDad; I do not believe that is a tabacky beetle. Maybe it's just a bad angle on the picture, but the antennae look is throwing me off.

I have to agree, that doesn't look like a tabacco beetle. It almost looks like a roach with the long Ant. and the two protrusions out the back.

yeah, I saw the other sites too. It looks "similar" to some of the ones posted, but different from others. There's a tobacco beetle and a ciggarette beetle? I don't know. All I know is the dor is hermetically sealed and they were inside. So I freaked out and initiated defcon 1 procedures.

Yo Robby: Kinda big to be a cigar beetle unless your using " miracle grow " instead of a 50/50 solution in your humidifier. But better safe than sorry, let us know how things work out. JonR

I have to concur with the rest of the guys. This thing looks too big to be a tobacco beetle. I thought tobacco beetles were supposed to only be the size of a pin head. I still stand by my initial hypothesis that the critter snuck in through a small crevice in the ploomidor. If that thing was in the ploomi for any lengh of time and had a taste for cigars, you would have definitely noticed some damage.
