Just to be curious...

Does anyone have a very expensive humidor? I mean something like a 150 count that cost $400+? Just wondering with the level of wisdom on the board if anyone bought or got one as a gift. I read a lot about you guys having multiple humidors and coolerdors, etc.

Just wondering.

I bought the Indulgence Table humidor from this site. It is a 500-count that is supposed to have a MSRP of almost $800 (according to CBID). I dont know if I agree with that MSRP, but I only paid $200.

I love it. It looks great in the living room. Even the girlfriend likes it. I like to have my cigars in an area where I can constantly look at them.

I have the H. Upmann Humidor with the two glass doors and 8 drawers in the cabinet. I have seen a variety of it in a retail shop, listing for what I think is a riduculous price (I didn't pay anywhere near MSRP). Also have the Antietam which is an end-table-size cabinet. I have others but these two are the nicest in my opinion. I have found that trying to go too inexpensive is a mistake. When I start thinking humidor prices, unfortunately I start thinking of the cigars I could buy with that amount of money, and I tend to scale down what I'm willing to invest. However, my next humidor purchase I am determined to invest in a really good, functional humidor (not exotic woods, French brand name, etc.), something where I'm not constantly trying to regulate the RH). Sorry didn't mean to get on a rant........:}!

Yeah...I have an "IL Duomo" dome glass top version of the El Rey basically. It looks good and does its job very well...also have a Cigar Jar...not buying another humidor...will get an igloo once I outgrow these...but I like the presentation of the glass top...and only paid $100 to get it to my door.

I just started the thread out of curiosity after seeing so many "premium" humidors from Dunhill, etc. going for $1000+. I didn't understand. Didn't know if anyone on the board had something like that and could explain.

I would never pay that kind of money for a humidor. I recently won this on cbid. I paid $55 and it sells for $110 on CI. Not a bad deal, 50% off and all.....

It is really a nice looking humidor.

Yeah...those El Presidente humidors are nice...a buddy had one and the only problem was that the hygrometer went out after about 2 years.

I found a Mastro de Paya humidor (~12x12x18") for $500 at my local cigar shop. This is ~50% of retail

I have a Cabinet Humidor that will hold 5000 cigars. It was custom built out of oak and is completely lined with 1/2" Spanish Cedar with a solid Spanish Cedar drawer for singles. Retail? Would have been something in the 1000's but I got it for material cost and a box of PAM's.....:) Oh yeah it has a glass door on the top level and a solid door below. It is about 1/2 full...:)

kcody, different strokes for different folks. A hand made product/piece of furniture/conversation piece/heirloom/climate controlled humidor is worth more than you might think...

I’d love to get in to woodworking like my father-in-law and one day perhaps sell my wears when I retire. (sigh, another 20 years…)
