i am SICK of companies (and yes, sometimes CB too) advertising things as long fill that have cigarette sized tobacco inside!!! sell me long filler, darnit i want long filler. i cut the entire end off and yes sometimes i even cut the long ones in half (gasps from the crowd) and you would be SURPRISED how many (even premiums) that have floor sweepings inside. cut one open, if they aren't long fill SEND 'EM BACK. yes, i know it's a waste but wasting one saves a BOX. any one else sick of this or just me?? What kind have you noticed this in?

i have rarely noticed this in a Super Premium GodF but have noticed frequently even in premiums. I honestly wish i had kept better track of the brands this has happened with. as a seasoned smoker, i am very aware that not every style in a Premium Line is not automatically long fill. i am only referring to gars that either specifically say long fill or a $6+ gar shouldn't need to say it, the price already tells you it is.

Robby, I am adamant because to say they are long filler and not have them be so, is dishonest at best. I clearly said i haven't tracked it but wish i had. i RARELY have had this happen with CAO, Arturo, Partagas, H Upmann, Avo, Bahia and Montecristo (also Graycliff and some others) but it is a COMMON occurance so if you are a frequent puffer this isn't news to you. I have smoked hundreds of brands so listing the ones that haven't is much easier. When it happens, they need to get them back, it is the only way to stop it.

Sketcha, unlike Dig, this isn't about CB or personal laundry between me and anyone. He was wrong, I am not. This is about misrepresentations from the cigar manufacturers. Yes, CB could open one of each cigar to make sure they are as the company represents, but they are too large to make that a practical suggestion. The companies should suffer the loss and CB would be fully credited for any customer returns. It is NOT unreasonable to expect long fill if that is the representation made. If customers don't hold the manufacturers to this representation the quality standard is useless. CB is only passing along the posted specs the companies provide and are not in any way purposely misrepresenting, that implication wasn't made (or intended if you think it was). I see now I should have worded it more succinctly. I didn't suspect being compared to Dig or I would have. Sorry for any confusion. thanks,

I've never cut one open 🙂 all of mine could be short filler! One of the main things you notice when you smoke a good LF though is the way it holds the ash. I guess I would be ticked a bit though if they advertised "LF" and I got "SF".

amen to the long ash.. i love that. my herf buddy always seems to win the contest though.

Some less than premium brands use mixed filler, but they say that up front. You are saying that premium brands are lying by saying they use long filler, but actually using mixed filler. I have never seen it. The mixed filler would burn hotter and I think I would notice it. I would be interested in some names too. These guys would have some explaining to do.

Maybe this is just me (and this could be attributed to smoking cigars for only 17 months) but I would definitely remember some of the cigar brands that I sliced opened and discovered short filler within.

This would be useful info if we knew "what cigars" to look out for, but I will not cut my cigars open since they have smoked fine in my estimation.

I just finished cutting open all 372 of my cigars and, thank goodness, they were ALL long filler. Whew!

I recall reading some years ago on a now-defunct competitor's forum [799# chimp]where someone referred to doing "autopsies" on the remainder. On occasion, I have done so. I'm a fan of Belinda Spanish Twists, though I smoked up my last one years ago. On occasion, I noticed a few in a bundle were mixed filler. In fact, some refer to the BST as a 'mixed filler'stick. I wouldn't be too surprised if some manufacturers let a mistake slip through [some have reported various debris in the blend] but I'm not aware of any specific problems. Paranoia?

A little while ago, I had a few gars that had some serious stems in them and a few that burned differently than others that I tried of the same kind, so I started opening them up occasionally to compare the construction and tobacco. I would take them nub and slice it vertically and then check it out - I checked out Padron 3000 and 5000, LFD 300&400, AF Cuban Corona, Buc Classico, Ashton Corona, HdM robusto,and my infamous Rum Runner, hm.... a few more but that's all I can think of now. Every one had gorgeous long filler leaves (except the Rum Runner, of course - bleck!)

Those poor, poor cigars. Did you have the proper buriel for them?
