I also had the opportunity to try a Jamaican Fundadores last night ... the first time I have ever smoked a cigar that came from Jamaica.

I never thought that Jamaican cigars were 'all that' ... so I never even thought about going out of my way to try one. Well, I was given one to try, and I don't know why I didn't consider persuing this line of cigars!

It was a real strong contender for one of the best cigars out there, and one that I wouldn't hesitate to keep in my rotation of daily smokes.

It too had excellent construction, an easy draw, and a wonderful flavor profile, stong enough to keep me interested, but not overpowering. I honestly thought I was smoking a Fuente, or another 'top-shelf' cigar ... as the flavor kept me wanting more.

It's amazing to me, that I constantly continue to find really good cigars out there, just when I think I have my tastes narrowed down the best ones, the ones I KNOW I like, in my quest to keep the 'dog rockets' eliminated from my humidors ...

... and then something like this comes along, and changes how I think.

That's the beauty of new cigars.

Sometimes they knock you right on your ass.

I was under the impression that most cigar manufacturing was stopped in Jamaica, and moved elsewhere. But maybe I was just reading about the Macanudo cigar factory? True/false?

I'm not sure about that ... all I know, is a friend just got back from there, and he brought back some Jamaican Fundadores Maduro.

He said that they are not available is the U.S., so I'm not sure if you can get them anywhere else ... I was not able to find very many places on the net that sold them, but one place had a toll free number where you could contact them.

Just ordered a five pack of the Robusto Gorda. Here is a description from the Web site:

"The secret of their mellowness is that all the leaf used in their construction has been aged longer than is the usual practice and then the cigars mature further in our vaults.
