A small rebanded cigar. The band is imprinted "Coronas Junior OSU SEP." Nice little smoke. A friend gifted me a small assortment of re-banded cigars recently. One band was imprinted "Partagas Short." It was pretty good. I like this one better. If I knew what it was I might want another some time. I don't think it is from Oklahoma State University.

I've never heard of rebanded cigars before...

Are those factory seconds that are bought and have a different band slapped on them?

ikonoklast7 --- the reason you've never heard of rebanded cigars before ...

... is because you haven't dealt with that many ISOM's ...

Where would we be without the Slim slap?

godfather1453406 --- I don't know where you get the idea that this was a 'slap'. I just told him the truth ...

... I guess you consider ANY response from me to be a 'slap' ... go figure.

So what exactly are rebanded cigars, Slim?

Many overseas retailers (and those who bring them in themselves) that ship ISOM's to the US, will send them (or bring them in the the US) without bands, and often in domestic boxes ... and sometimes will send the bands seperately in an envelope by mail, to avoid customs intervention.

If they don't ... you have to band them yourself, so you can remember what they are ...

That is what is normally refered to as a 'rebanded' cigar.

I see.

Pretty clever.

I only think you are slapping someone when you correct them.

... correction is good, and it can be taken in a positive or negative manner ... that's up to the individual and how sensitive they may be.

It's how you learn ...

When I was traveling over to europe I would always bring a bunch of cigar bands with me so I could reband the Cuban cigars before going through customs here in the states. The customs people only wanted to see them once out of about 10 trips. That one time I told them that I didn't care for the Cuban cigars and only smoked Domminican's, like they would know the difference LOL.

I've been "re-banned" from a couple of places for smoking cigars.
