I am looking for a special cigar, that I have never had, to celebrate my 22nd birthday with. I figure I will splurge a little, so I would be interested in any recomendations that would be suitable for such an occasion. Any recomendations would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

My most available choice for celebration is the Padron Annivesario line, either maduro or naturl. They aren't too hard to find and a couple won't break the bank.

What are your tastes? Mild??? Medium??? Full???? or somewhere in between??

My favorite stick to date is the medium bodied ISOM Monte Cristo #2 followed closely behind by the ISO Monte Cristo #2. I also like the Por Larranaga Pyramids.

In a milder smoke, you might want to try a Davidoff (original line), a Macanudo Duke of Windsor is also excellent as are The Griffin's and AVO (again original line).

Other quality medium smokes you might want to try are the CAO Black series, La Perla Habana Blond or the AVO Domaine.

I'll let others respond concerning stronger tastes because mine is still in the infancy stage. 🙂

As my birthday approaches, I plan to have a Fuente 858 Sungrown and a Perdomo La Vieja Habana Series A #1 maduro.

If I were to buy something at the store, it would be Arturo Fuente Don Carlos Presidente or a La Aurora Preferidos 1903 #2 Maduro Tubo. Of course, there's always the Ashton VSG, Diamond Crown #7 Maduro, Ashton Aged Maduro or Padron 1926 No 6 maduro. Darn it. Lost my focus and started drooling on the keyboard again. Now I have to start all over again.

You didn't say anything about the flavor or strength of the cigars you usually smoke. I'm apt to suggest something full bodied and flavorful, and you might only enjoy mild or medium bodied smokes. I'd hate to suggest something you wouldn't enjoy right from the start, it's suppose to be for your b'day. Hope the other suggestions are helpful and you have a great b'day.

As mentioned above, I have to agree the my best in stock is a ISOM Montecristo #2, mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm sooooooooooooooo smooth. There are too many choices to pick just one, so maybe since it is your B-Day, you will just have to smoke . . . say 7 or 8 and tell us what your favorite was!!!!

Hey guy, thanks for all your help and recomendations. I ended up stopping at my local shop this afternoon. I ended up getting a Diamond Crown #7 Maduro and a Fuente 858 Maduro. I smoked the 858 on the way home, it was great. I will partake of the Diamond Crown later this evening. You all supplied quite a list of cigars. I will definately use it as something to look back to next time I need a special smoke, lord knows another birthday is too long to wait. 🙂

Excellent choices. That 858 maduro is an anytime, anywhere smoke for me.

The DC #7 builds body as you smoke it down. Make sure to carve out a little extra time for it.
