Call me old fashioned, but I like the look of analog hygrometers and I find that a well maintained humidor w/ credo and analog hygro stays at 70 almost maintenance free. I have an analog adjustable hygrometer that I calibrated against 2 honeywell digitals (these are dead acurate and often come free w/ house humidifiers) and a prometheus digital (all read the same). Once calibrated it never needed recharging and stayed in sync. Now I'm looking to replace a non-adjustable analog (no screw in the back) that is off by about 8 and I can't seem to see a description stating which analog's have an adjustment screw or bezel. Anyone bought one from ci/cbid that was an know which one's are?

If there is no screw, you can often pop the back off. Then you can rotate the interior mechanism so the needle lines up where you want it to on the dial.

no luck w/ that. The offending unit has a magnet glued on the back, but if you lift it there's no screw. On the side there is a small manufacturing/service slot that a screwdriver MAY be able to fit in. Tried all different kinds but the back won't come off 😞. Thanks though.

Hey,
I have gotten 2 of the hygrometers from the auction and both have had screw adjustment holes on the back.

I've bought five or six of these in the last few months and every one of them had a screw adjustment in the back. All have been dead-on accurate also. (I use the salt test).

Ok cool, sounds like I have a pretty good chance of the hygro's here being adjustable. Gonna bid next week and hope.
Thanks ppl.

there needs to be an adjustment screw in the back of all analog hygrometers or they couldn't be set when they are sold. you might need the size screwdriver you will need when you start wearing glasses.

i would suggest using the salt method of calibrating. wou really don't know if the hygrometers you are using to calibrate are accurate, even if you have three that read the same.

a man was born with a screw where his belly button should be. he never tried to remove it and the doctors said leave it alone.

the man was always sad.

one night he saw a huge shooting cigar and he yelled help me, help me.

a beam of blue light came down from the star and lit the screw on his belly.

i tiny man came down the beam of light with a gold screw driver, unscrewed the screw, flew up the beam, and the light went out.

the man was so exited he stood up to applaud and his ass fell off.
