Small, box pressed robusto (4 3/4 x 50). This also had a light wrapper, but had the smooth and silky feeling I like in a maddie. My initial thinking was that this was a Perdomo2, and I admit that I have a decidedly mixed love/hate relationship with these. But then I was not so sure.

I toasted the foot extremely well, because I've had very mixed results with the P2 (lots of canoeing, uneven burns). It lit up like a champ and my search for flavor began. Right off the bat I started to be concerned with uneven burn issues, but I've smoked enough of this type of cigar that by slowing down and constantly rotating the cigar with each puff I usually am able to make them even out. I was lucky with this one too and it straightened out, but it does kinda bug me when I need to make such efforts. A cigar should burn slow and even without any work on my part.

It had a very characteristic taste from the start, but I couldn't pinpoint it. It wasn't the cocoa or coffee like I anticipated finding in a maduro. What the heck was it? No, it wasn't iodine either (lol). Finally, I decided that it was floral. Kinda like a slightly aromatic Acid. Not anywhere near as strong, but that was the flavor...a mild flowery herbal essence. It wasn't particularly unpleasant, but it certainly wasn't what I had expected. In the middle I picked up a bit of additional complexity, but the floral taste lasted the entire way through the cigar and I found it to be especially refreshing with my coffee in the morning, but it also worked with the light Tecate beer I had with the evening trial.

The small size of the cigar was just right to keep me from getting impatient with it. It lasted about 40 minutes and could have been speeded up considerably with more concerted puffing.

The convenient size/shape would make these nice to have occasionally, especially if the price was right. Overall I enjoyed this and would buy more. I'm guessing this is the mid-range sample.

This is one of my favorite mild smokes for morning coffee. They can usually be had on cbid for way under $2.00 each. I think you nailed the profile on these pretty closely. Good work!
