Since this IS an open 'forum,' I'd like to voice my .02 here...

Everyone is most surely entitled to his/her own opinion, however, let me just point out here that CAO is one of the very few - if not only - cigar companies that is constantly offering new promotional merchandise (i.e., 'swag') every few months. When was the last time you saw a thread titled, "New brand x Hat 2?"

As with our cigars and packaging, we are constantly innovating in all areas of our business, including even our 'swag.' Often, we look outside our realm of business for inspiration in design. I'm not expecting anyone here to be on the 'cutting edge' of fashion, however, even USA Today did a major piece on the popularity of caps such as the one you see pictured here (call them "trucker" caps if you'd like).

As to being 'cheap' and cutting down on our promotional costs, I would ask you to visit VonDutch.com, and see for yourself what a cap of similar materials is retailing for - try $42-$75. In fact, if we wanted to be 'cheap' and 'cut costs,' it'd be far easier and more convenient for us to order a huge amount of the same cotton-twill, unstructured, low-profile, adjustable caps that nearly everyone and their cousin seems to do for promotional 'swag' and call it a day.

Instead, we choose to continue producing a limited amount of a brand new style every few months in the hopes that some will enjoy the evolution of our apparel. And hey - at the end of the day - if you don't like these caps, that's fine; hang on to your bands....there'll be a brand 'new' and original CAO Cap or t-shirt right around the corner.

Thanks for your time and support. Kind Regards.

I'm going to guess that as a college student I'm significantly younger than most posting on this forum, and attribute the difference of opinion to the "generation gap," but I LOVE this hat!

Here's some insight into the 'trucker-cap' style:

As has been pointed out already, they may not be for everyone, however, we (CAO) are constantly trying to bring 'fresh' innovation to our marketing approach.

Jon - based on the tats I'd say you had a lot to do with this hat, I like the style but I'd opt for different colors. I have tats as well so I understand...

Love the swag Jon, this one just isn't my cup of tea...er coffee....ok damnit, Whiskey.

I picked up one of the red and black CAO caps and love it. When I think of CAO, I think cutting edge, not John Deere. No offense intended.
