Wow, I just got back from an event at the local Harley dealer where one of the local shops hosted Bucanero cigars in one of the tents. I tried both of the new lines, Salsa and the Z.

I prefered the Salsa over the Z, but I like full bodied cigars. The Z started on the mellow side and built as I smoked, a good smoke start the day with. If your one to smoke past the band the Z has a great kick at the end. The Salsa started great, full bodied and stayed consistent all the way through to the nub. When it is available this will be one of the go to cigars in my humidor.

I did meet John at the event (Robert's brother), we talked cigars at great length. He was a very personable guy with an in depth knowledge of cigars, and not just his own line but with all lines and types of cigars. He also gave me a history of the Bucanero lines and how they had devloped the blends of the different cigars.

All in all I enjoyed talking with him and smoking the Salsa and Z, it was a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Oh and there were a few (100+) nice Harleys to check out while we were there and a few harley babes as well.

John told me that I had gotten the LAST Salsa in the state of Florida and the second to last Z. He did however have a few boxes of the Crew sitting there but I didn't have time to get to those. I do know where those boxes will be sitting tomorrow. I may wander down to get one to try, if I do, I will post a review of that line as well.

I had my first Z last night, thanks to the Godfather. It had great construction, flawless burn, and good draw. A bit milder than I was expecting, but I like mild cigars some days... and Rita Moreno's on others (spicy little numbers).

I will definitely stock some of these (as soon as they are available) for when I am in the Partagas 150 mood but need to be more realistic.

Next on the quest - the salsa.

You'll not be disapointed by that Salsa.
