Magna - yup, one corner of my old couch is one of his favorite scratching posts.

Mrtelcom - sorry to hear about your feline. I have had many cats over the years and have had to do that deed countless times. As a youngster, it helped me learn and understand life and death. I don't know if I'd call his fur, "rabbit fur". It is short-medium length, all black on top, white on bottom, with white legs.

He also catches sparrows and gophers and brings them inside the house on occassion. I've had to take a hammer to a couple of gophers. He's figured me out. If he has a mouse outside, he won't let me come within two steps of him before he picks up the mouse and runs away. He knows I'm gonna put the mouse out of its misery.
