Hensed, from what I know, Canada and Great Britain have real high "sin taxes" against tobacco (since they provide free health care to their citizens, they have to make up for it somehow)

From what I know, Spain and Switzerland have low to no taxes on tobacco. I believe Mexico, Carribean Islands, and other places south of the US have low taxes on cigars...but counterfeiting is so rampant in Mexico, the Dominican Republic, etc. that you really have to watch your butt. If you go to any of those places, only buy from a registered "La Casa del Habanos", and even then, be careful.

Cigar prices in Spain are regulated by the Spanish government. I was there a few weeks ago and they had some of the lowest prices in the European Union. Here is the 2003 price list if you are interested.

I couldnt begin to tell you how to get them shipped back over here. Never had them mailed before. I dont need that kind of stress in my life. Best of luck.

I went to Canada last month, I shopped for cigars in Winnipeg and the prices were outrageous, they were asking $6 for a consuegra in Canadian money at that time the exchange was 1.38 so I would had paid around $3 and a change for a crap cigar that is not worth a dollar and for ISOMs I didn't find anything under $20 Canadian. That is the free health care cost.

Buy online from other countries.

But if taking them back through Canadian/U.S. customs, pack them deep in a duffel bag or under a seat in a bag or something like that. And then hope you aren't one of the few they select to be checked out. Even if you are, cigars are pretty easy to hide.

If you take off the bands, you can place them somewhere else. Don't mail them; put them in a book or something. But you will still be harrassed about the cigars and they may be confiscated.
