This years holiday release of the Opus X is excellent. I burnt this one right out of the box. It took a little correcting at first but then burned evenly with a strong white ash all the way to the nub. Construction was superb and the flavor was rich and full bodied.

I think, IMHO, that it's the best release of Opus I've had. I've got a few with 2yrs on them and some from last year and the new ones are the best.

If you can get them, buy them.

So they should be available in the stores now? or you got some special prerelease or something? My asking and finding out could / would prevent or allow a 1.5 hour trip to see if I can get any this early...

I have seen Opus out several weeks ago too.

Some stores receive four shipments a year and then string out their supply by putting out one box at a time and limiting them to one a day. Other stores receive three shipments a year and then others just twic a year. It all depends on the supply that is available to them, or at least this is what the tobacco stores around me have told me when looking for them several months ago.
