While I was smoking last night, I realized that once I start using one hand to smoke a cigar, I rarely switch it to the other hand to hold it. However, which hand I start out holding the cigar with is pretty random, If I am drinking coffee and the cup is on the table to my left, I use my right to hold the smoke and visa versa. Just wonder if anyone has any quirky rituals or superstitions about holding thier cigar?

As long as you’re not using both hands (at the same time) I think Freud would have issues with that…

I'm a switch hitter. I start out with the left. But, it ends up in the right. When I get to the nub I switch back and forth because my fingers get hot. Of course that is only with a smoke that taste so good I can't put it down.

I predomianatly use my right hand but do switch off.
Otherwise it will to hook to that side.

Which ever hand happens to be empty when I need to take the cigar out of my mouth.

Dang - my wife is going out of town for a couple weeks and I was hoping to get some technique advice (it's been a while...)

anyway, I used to use my right b/c I'm right handed, but now I've built up enough dexterity in my left hand to be able to bring it to my mouth and close it around the cigar pretty well. So now I use both - whatever is convenient.

Sometimes when I switch hands I gain a stroke. I think this contradicks Newton's Third Law of Thermodynamics.

I can use either hand. I'm amphibious!

I can do almost nothing with my right hand, except throw. I can't even drink with my right hand without spilling my drink.

I'd give my right arm to be ambidextrous!

as far as smokin goes.. I can use either hand and find I switch often.. Mainly left tho!!!!

I like to have a cup of coffee and cigar while on the "throne." Occasionally, I have to switch my cigar to my left hand.

Sometimes I use my left, sometimes my right. Depends on which side I've designated as my beer/adult libation serving assistant. Sometimes, while on the course or washing the car...I don't use any hands. I haven't used my toes yet, but would be willing to try if it means I'd get the job(Bill Murray - Stripes), once while in the hottub smoking an Opus FFOX I got both hands wet and had a 3" ash going, I knew it was gonna fall with the next gust of wind so I hollared to the wife unit and she took it out of my mouth, tipped the ash and put it back in my mouth. How's that for service?! About a 1/2hour later I tried the same thing, but got no response...mutter...I think she used some obscene finger gesture...mutter...So the house got no tip!
