Figured I better introduce myself before I started replying to posts. I've been smoking cigars for 5 years or so. For the last 4 1/2 years, I've only smoked 5-10 a year, but that's started to increase as of late, as I've finally met some fellow cigar smokers in my area. Not that my numbers are that high...I still only make it through 4-7 a month.

I've never really paid attention to brands; I just bought the cigars the guy at the smoke shop recommended. I'm trying to learn some names now though. If any of you have suggestions of cigars to try, I'd love to hear them. I prefer rich, creamy, full flavor, with out being harsh. I was at a cigar tasting last week. They were handing out CAO L'Anniversaire Belicoso eXtreme. That cigar was very harsh, if that helps determine flavors.

Just saw this cigar online: La Aurora Preferidos. Can anyone tell me about it?

Welcome humulus, sounds like another emerald city smoker. There have been rumblings of a possible mini-herf.

the La Aurora Perf. are great, slow burning but not as rich as i had hoped. lots of smoke! slightly one dimensional.

I recently had a 1903 and I was blown away. I thought it was a very rich, flavorful cigar - absolutely delicious. Not as complex as a PAM, but VERY tasty and enjoyable.

I would recommend a Padron 3000 or PAM for a rich flavorful cigar, CAO L'Anniv. Cameroon isn't as strong as the xtreme maddies, try Arturo Fuentes also - anything Sun Grown (with the black band) or a Hemingway or short story. Bucaneros are excellent too if you can find them - full sail and salsa might be a bit much for you - try the Z, el capitan or classico or peg leg

Nic hello, you're right about not many cigar smokers around here. I had the La Aurora Preferidos sampler set they looked great but had to be returned(for reasons I won't explain). I still want to try them.

If you want to stick to CAO try the cameroon it's very good. I like the Ann. maduro tasty not harsh, the Black line, puts out thick smoke, is worth a try. CAO also has great customer service, if that means anything to you.

Try Hoyo de Monterey smooth and inexpensive, La Gloria Cubana lots of flavor but may not be right for you. I've got plenty of both.
