This is #14 in the esteemed Penguin Diaries mystery stick series.

#14 is about a 6.54 torp but with a strange shape to the head; kind bullnose. Light brown wrapper. I've not seen this stick or one like it ever before...The prelight aroma hints of a slight spiciness; few veins; good bunch. Upon toasting and torching, only a slightly firm draw giving off a good amount of smoke.

Medium gray/brown ash held for about 1.5 inch; About the 1/2 inch mark it began to open up; medium body but good flavors. Burn not even but didn't need touching up either. Detecting a slight sweetness (ligero?)...

Medium to full body now at about the 1.5 inch mark with complexity increasing at about 1/2 way through (upper end of the medium scale but not quite full).

This one definitely has me stumped. My choices:

LF ligero (don't see how but it's somewhat similar..)
Buc? Don't know why maybe I was thinking I needed one?
???

Solve the mystery Penguin.

Not readily available in the US...hmmm...Can't be an ISOM; didn't detect the "twang" unless it was just too subtle...the ash was not quite as ISOM dark as I'm used to, but I've seen variations in the ash before...

El Original?
Bandit Cigars? it does have that light Conn shade wrap...

I detected it might be but began to second guess myself after looking for the twang and dark ash....OK note to self--go with gut feeling next time...

Can't think of an ISOM with a bullet torpedo head like it had...It was a fine cigar I might add, but sure has me stumped...

well, it had a brown band on it that was round in the center. Not a fancy band, just brown with white lettering 🙂 I hope it didn't get "squished" durring the transit to give it that shape!!!

Although a very good smoke, I'm wondering about the box code date; might have been a little young. Someone we know in Germany sent me one that blew my socks off and I later found out it was very very aged.

Thanks again bro, now off to #13--the classic Penguin13 mystery stick!

JD Your pic and review - Well - Awesome! That is the beauty of the beast the older she gets the milder she gets...Wooo-Hooo! Silk - My Brother - Silk!
