First I would like to thank those of you that sent me all the different kinds of cigars after I asked my question on the forum. Now my question is, when I keep cigars in my humidor, do I take them out of the plastic baggies? and what about the peices of plastic that individually wraps each cigar? And if I do take them out, do the flavors of the different brands blend together? And it seems like the cigar is to dry when I first receive them so I let them sit in the humidor for a couple of weeks and they arenot so hard. (Am I making sense???) Would it speed up the process if I took the cigars out of there wrapers? Thanks

You are gonna get a lot of slack from others to tell you to do a search, and that your post is a newbie mistake, but who really cares. I don't. Welcome aboard!

Take them out of the baggies. The plastic around each individual ones (called a cello) can be left on of off, its your preference, I myself do both. Don't worry about blending, unless its a flavor or aromatic cigar (like Acids), keep those seperate. And yes, keep your dry ones in you humidor for a while to let them reabsorb the moisture, but sometimes they don't taste the same after they have been dry and re-moisturized. That's just the simple stuff, any other hard questions can be answered by the other "geniuses" on these boards.

We were all newbies at one time, although my long-term memory no longer extends back that far, so don't worry about your questions. Leave cello on to prevent tattering and enhance portability. For cigars you are going to smoke pretty quick, I like cello off because they are more visually appealing to me (and some cigars arrive without cello to begin with). Almost any cigar will improve substantially with aging. If you age boxes, I recommend you take the cello off, particularly this newer stuff that is almost like "stretchy" plastic.

Having said the above, bottom-line, it is all a matter of personal taste.................Enjoy!
