Well I finally took the plunge went off the ole deep end and bought some of the Gurkha Centurian Double X's. Someone who has bought some please tell me they are worth the money. I paid 111.00 most I have ever spent on 14 cigars. Was caught between hoping I would be outbid and praying I would not be. I have once a week shipping and cannot wait. So what is the word?. Worth it or not.

If I had the dough, I'd have done it. 111$ is not a bad price. Around here 8$ is the ticket for a merely decent cigar.

That's here, my locality, not here as in c-bid. 'course that's what those red dot Cohibas have been going for in the five pack come to think of it.

I've never paid this much for a group of cigars, but I can tell you that they are worth every penny, in my humble opinion. I've just had one so far, and all I can say is that I was purely content as I smoked it. In fact, I have had to physically restrain myself from bidding on another tin of the suckers, which I can ill afford at present. If you hate them, I will gladly take them off your hands for a fair price 🙂

rdk.........I've said it before and I'll say it again: You can't rip yourself off! If you want the cigar then whatever you bid for it is worth it to you. Maybe to no one else, but it is to you. Never regret what you paid for a lot of cigars. You may regret the NUMBER of lots you won (because you didn't want to spend that aggregate total of money), but any particular lot you are bidding on, and win, is not too much for you! Doesn't mean I would have paid the same for it, bid less on it, or more on it; the important thing is that you got what YOU wanted. Therefore, YOU didn't pay too much. Been there, done that, so.......just my thoughts..............

The only person who will be able to say whether or not it was worth it ... will be you, after you have had a chance to experience them.

Thanks for the support again something about people who enjoy a good cigar. I don't think I have met a bad one yet. Read the Gen Tommy Franks article in Cigar Aficionado. I love his take on cigars. I cannot wait to try them. I will post what I think.

I'm waiting on my second tin and to me they are worth every penny of the buck eleven I spent on them. Superb construction and draw. Nice relaxing complexity nothing in your face about this cigar. I have yet to find a Gurkha that has disappointed me. I believe there are a few of us here that would gladly take them off your hands for the price you payed.

I did a review on these puppies a month ago, and they are definately worth the money, and some. One of the best I've ever smoked.

With a silly old knife, they retail for more than double what you paid. From a purely monetary point of view, it appears you did okay.

I got a canister of these about two weeks ago. Let's start off with the positives. The appearance is very nice and smooth. So far that's were the positives end for me. The first I lit up was a total waste! The wrapper peeled (kinda unwound as I smoked it). In addition the draw was almost non-existant. It was like drawing on a hollow straw. As far as flavor I really can't say because it was just a terribly constructed cigar and I gave up on it after about ten minutes.

OK so mistakes can happen. A couple days later I tried the second one out of the bunch. It had a perfect draw and burned even all the way. Unfortunately, there wasn't a lot of flavor. But as I wrote in an earlier post my tastebuds have been acting up a bit lately so I'm going to reserve judgement on the taste. I put the rest away for awhile and I'll try them again in a few weeks.
