Just want to get some feedback on this cutter. I have been a Xikar cutter guy for years...However, a friend of mine just bought and let me use the Palio and all I can say is - Wow!

Anyone have experience with this cutter?

They're the best cutters today. As a fellow user of Xikar cutters which I though were fabulous, the Palio cutters put them to shame. Palio cutters is all that I use for my finest smokes.

I got my first one a couple years back ... and it's as sharp as they claim. After two years of use, it's still as sharp as the day I bought it.

That article rated the Palio 7th overall, 7th in function, 9th in design, 4th in cut quality. Some of the negative comments were seems cheap due to its plastic body, and unwieldy. Not a bad cutter, just overpriced for what it is.

Usually they can be found at around $40 (I got mine for $31), I take it you own one, or have used one ...

... to make that statement.

It has been one of the best cutters I've ever owned, and I have just about every one of the major contenders ... SAK, Xikar, Zino, etc.

Well, you can find high ratings for Lone Wolf cigars if you look in the right places ... speaking for myself, I trust my own experience before anyone doing ratings ... unless I know the rater personally and know how his/her judgment compares to my own.

I used a Palio for the first time several years ago when attending a tasting put on by one of the big cigar companies ... their rep had a Palio and I asked to use it after watching him cut cigars he was handing as samples ... I found it to be particularly easy to use, and amazingly sharp.

I e-mailed B with the URL of the place I know where they can be obtained for $31 ... and if anyone can beat that, let me know because I need to buy a new one ... it makes me sick to say so, but I've somehow lost mine and, sad to say, can't justify buying a new one just now given the functional brand X cutter I mistakenly bought to replace the lost Palio ...

Slim, you take it right. I have have tried one and I did not care for it given its price. Everyone has their own personal likes and dislikes. Please do not take my comments personally, just my opinion.

Oh ... nothing personal ... I was just curious as to if you had tried one ... or not.

Sometimes, you will find those people who like to give opinions on things they know nothing about ... LOL!

Of course, I'm glad you aren't in that category ... LOL!

Ratings - I don't really care how a cigar or a cutter is rated by other people. I have found that it is best to form an opinion based upon personal tastes and experiences.

I tried the Palio that a friend gave me and LOVED IT! I like Slim, have tried em all and must say that the Xikar and the Palio are tops in my book.

For the bigger stuff - which I rarely smoke - I use a SAK which I will add is also - great.

As for the money associated with the cutter...Hmmm, I got the Rosewood Xikar for 32.00, SAK 16.00 - both of em I got here. Cigar Slicer got in on a group buy for 32.00 - including shipping on a different board.

{Palio Not Yet Purchased} but I expect to pay around 35.00. All things considered, I don't consider any of these prices expensive.

Just my .03 cents!

Uh, smithbw ... Xikar doesn't make a 'Rosewood' cutter ... 😉

... only 'Redwood' ...
