Hey, guys, I'm just getting over a pretty nasty cold - so it has been several days (almost a week) w/o a stogie - and I'm dying for one - but I'm not quite over the cold yet... I'm sure I'll be feeling ok tonight, but I wonder - #1 will I be able to taste it, #2 will it make my sinuses worse again.... (MNF just ain't the same without a cigar in your hand...) any thoughts?

#1 - depending on how bad your cold is, you might not be.

#2 - in my experience, smoking with a bad cold makes my throat get sore. I don't know about sinuses.

I recently had to wait 3 weeks to smoke a cigar because of a cold I couldnt get rid of. I didnt take care of myself and didnt get the rest that I needed. That's why it lasted for 3 weeks.

Wait till you're better,trust me. It'll make your cigar taste better and you feel better about yourself for having waited. X

I've had this throat thing going for the past few days, just about over it now ....I think. Experience has taught me to just leave the cigars alone when anything is going on like a cold or flu. It's just a waste of a good (or bad) cigar. Like x said, hold off 'til you know your well, ....but it is your call.

Since you can't taste very well when you have a cold, it's perfect time to smoke that box of lonewolfs you've been aging!!! LOL

IMHO unless you are really sick, don't smoke. I've smoked cigars with symptoms of a cold, and the gars wasn't too, too bad!! I wouldn't some any premiums, since you might not enjoy it much. Don't try anything you've never smoked, if you must smoke go to one of your "go to smokes" the ones that are everyday smokes, and that are tastee!! Pour yourself a nice glass of Port and a dose of nightquil!! LOL

Too late - I just fired up a Joya De Nic... man, these sure are bland.....

What I always hate about any upper respiratory infection is that it effects the TASTE of the cigar. When I light up, I've got a pretty good idea of what it will taste like (with maybe the exception of the FIRE) but when I've got a cold, recovering from a cold, etc., I have no idea. What taste you get is an adventure each time. Really hate to waste a premium cigar when it tastes like crap because I'm all screwed up. Just my thoughts....................
