OK, not going to search the boards, want a fresh opinion on this. We all know that cello is breathable and has no proven agreement on versus off.
However, propylene is used to seal the outside of boxes, and is not breathable. I have generally thought to always remove this as it would not allow the sticks to breathe, and over time they could bathe in their own byproducts of aging, causing ammonia smells.

I recently picked up 2 boxes of 2001 release 858's. They both had their propy on, I removed it from the first. I am now re-wondering the merits of removing it from the second, or, just leave it on.
So, anyone have any new experiences on this to share?

I'm with X. Needs to breath somewhat if stored for long periods, like wine. IMHO

yep, I'm gonna take it off, which means I'm gonna have to herf one too tonight 😉

I like the celo on, i feel that it gives an extra layer to stop humi swings in the cigars, but thats just me. Overall you will have to make the choice with the celo cause both ways are fine.

I almost always remove the outer wrap if I'm certain that it isn't cello. If there's no chance for air infiltration, you run a small risk of mold if the cigars were packed very damp. The plastic wrap will not allow the moisture in the cigars to dissipate, and of course, they will age more slowly.

I take them out and smoke them 🙂
