This issue about the FREAK who wants her health insurance to pay for a sex change operation SHOULD be a non-issue. How DARE she expect insurance to pay for this. I really don't care if she or any other FREAK cut or maim their own bodies, but to expect isurance to pay for it is insane! Just like insurance should not cover a nose-job or tummy tuck, it CAN'T be used for such idiocricy (is that a word?). This is not about homophobia. It's about sanity.

Actually from what I understand from the original article I read in my local paper.There are quite a few of these trans gender public employees in San Francisco that have asked the city to pay for their opperations and the city has agreed.Up to something like $40,000.00."This is very much a civil rights issue," said SF Supervisor Mark Leno.
