normally I only like the ash to get around an inch to two inches max, but once out of curiousity I smoked a Puros Indios Rothchild, and finished the cigar to the band with the ash intact.

Since I dont want the damn ashes in my lap or all over the place I have never attempted this great "feat"! The stories are getting interesting..........waiting to hear about the one that "ashed" all the way to their teeth!

Ya know if you hold your tongue while saying the word 'ash', it can get a few chuckles out of anyone! Seriously though, some people actually believe that if the ash holds up for majority of the smoke that it means that the tobacco is better. However, other articles state that having a long ash actually interferes with the natural burn of the tobacco. Go figure. I dunno but, I can't wait to go to the Fool's Herf and watch the "longest ash" contest!.....fun, fun, fun!...Brent

Ok...I confess, I've tried this ONCE...and ONLY once. I felt like a fool holding my Hoyo Roth like a telescope looking for unchartered planets! I pretty much smoked it to where the band would be (unbanded smoke), then I couldn't take it any more. The anticipation was getting in the way of my enjoyment, and the wife thought I was nuts!

The real fun begins when you balance your favorite drink on your head while Ashing the stick of your choice. Experts may even try this while shuffling cards or even jogging in place. Jumping rope, however, is not recommended...
