My dentist drilled a hole into my sinus cavity yesterday, then sent me to an oral surgeon to clean up the mess. Kinda weird feeling being able to blow air from your mouth up to your nose through a tooth. The bad news is if I want the hole to heal itself, I have to quit cigars for 6 mos to a year! The oral surgeon said he's never seen one of these holes heal in a patient who smokes. Bummer. Now I have to age my collection for a year before I can enjoy.

Ouch!

Damn and people wonder why I hate the dentist, sorry buddy get well soon.

Sounds like a root canal gone bad. Have them plug the tooth and then the healing will take place in your nose. Just don't french inhale and you might make it through.

Sorry to hear that, But,IMHO, I would take your oral surgeons advice......now days, 6 months to a year goes by so quickley. You can still hold one to ease the feeling, just stay away from the matches....

I just had my tonsils taken out and was out of action for a month. The way I saw it, just because I couldn't smoke cigars didn't mean I couldn't still buy them!

...Now I've got an overstock problem...

Thanks so much to all of you for your kind remarks. I'm feeling real ambivalent right now: glad for the Christmas season with family and friends, pained about having my tooth extraction perforate my sinus, glad to be off work for a few days, seriously bummed about not being able to get through the Newbie Sampler HarleyDave sent me. All this seen through a vicodin haze.

This is a great community. I just don't know if I can stand hangin' out with you all when I can't partake too. Have a great Christmas.
