greetings: the lighter snob here. 🙂

i've used triple flames before, and they are good for lighting up IF you don't burn the living hell out of your 'gar while you do it. just be careful and put some distance between the flames and your 'gar.

really, i've had colibris that quit on me after a month, and i've had $5 gas station torches that still rock and roll. when it comes to butane lighters, though, my advice is this: use ONLY premium grade fluid, like colibri fluid -- no matter how cheap or expensive a butane lighter is, this fluid will prolong its life and keep it from going FUBAR on you. also, take it into your cigar or jewelry shop once or twice a year and ask them to blow it out with compressed air (or buy your own and learn how to DIY).

good luck!

Whats funny is I have a cheapo butane lighter that came with a thompson package and it was working fine untill i bought colibri butane and filled it. Now its very iffy, lights some times doesn't light others, which is a pain because its almost impossible to see the flame in bright daylight so then I have to guess if it worked.

sorry that you had that experience. you might want to just bleed the tank and fill it up with what you were using before in that case, though. i've switched from cheap fuel (in a cheap lighter) to premium and had that happen. i bled the tank, filled it with colibri, and it worked fine ever after. but as long as there was any of the cheaper fluid in there, it didn't work well at all. i'd either fill it with cheaper fluid (since that worked for you) or try the colibri again after bleeding the tank and see if that makes a difference.

when i had a cheapie lighter, i started off using colibri, and i never had trouble. couple of times i was out and used ronson butane, though, i had the same problem that you're having with the premium. weird.
good luck!
