While I was putting up a wall in my remodel on Mon., I lit up a Black Pearl. To cool my thirst I popped an ice cold Diet Rite. I was in Heaven! The Splenda sweetened soda complemented the sweet maduro perfectly. It's like they were made for one another.

Whenever possible, I like to have some bourbon with my smokes and I've gone to Diet Pepsi and Diet Coke as my non-alcoholic staples. None of these, for me hold a candle to the flavor complimented by Diet Rite. I've got an Oliva "O" Orion going right now with my can a' soda and they're making me very happy. Ah the simple things.

FYI. Diet Rite is non-caffeinated. Since I'm trying to keep myself to one morning cup of coffee/day, this is perfect for me.

P.S. Did I mention I'm a major shareholder in 7UP which cans Diet Rite...

not really, but I'm thinking about it. {=^)

sketcha...in the non-alcoholic area, like Dr. Pepper with many of my 'gars, Diet Dr. Pepper is really good too, it's a little more subtle and obviously has no calories.
but i prefer Jack & Coke over anything else

I like Diet DP as well, but I think this is better. If you haven't already, give it a try.

I like a nice ginger ale but Doctor Pepper is a close second...

Bear in mind that Splenda is thought to be much better for you than Nutri-Sweet/Aspertame.

All right Sketcha..... Just got a 5 pack of the La Perla Black Pearls on Monday.... Now I'm going for the Diet-rite on the way home. (Although that single malt scotch I have is probably better)

I'll let you know how the BP/DR combo works.... (But I'm going to keep a shot of scotch ready for a chaser just in case..) Updates tommorrow.

LOL, Hey DBguru,
Think I'll join ya. Got one of those Cuban Beli.'s right here, and scotch a few feet away at the bar. I was just wondering what beverage, and saw this thread. I think I'll go for Glendranoch 15 yr.

Balvenie Port Wood,
Hmmm, haven't had that one. Yet. I have only been drinking single malts for about 1 1/2 years. I am slowly progressing. I limit myself on the scotch purchases, as it is addicting as cigar collecting, and just as expensive. LOL
Do I need to add it to my must try list ?????

Dave,

They don't give it away. I think it runs in the mid $80s/bottle. My restaurant sells it for $12.75/shot. I'm no expert on Scotch, but this is my favorite so far.
