I got it from an old friend of mine who is over in Bagdad right now. He said these guys in the pic are some sort of CIA special ops type. You know the ones with no real names or official ties.

Is it just me or does that guys watch (the shiny silver one on the guy holding Saddam) not look all that "tactical"? Nothing like the desert sun reflecting off a nice shiny watch to aim at!

I was going to send this on, but then thought, if this guy is CIA, special ops, under cover, whatever.... what a dis-service I would be doing plastering his photo all over the internet.

AJ

I don't think he's an under cover agent. If so, he wouldn't have let his picture get taken and then start spreading it around all of Iraq.

Cool photo.

I doubt they are special ops. From what I've heard it was just a special detachment...pretty much regular troopers with an extraordinary job.

You won't see special ops letting themselves get photographed without shooting the photog and mulching the film. Anyway the shiny watch is a special ops no-no as well as standard issue desert cammies and M16's.

I do like the hockey glove for effect. You think Saddam got a high stick before the photo??

I would have to believe my friend who sent it to me. If you notice the photo, the guy with the shinny watch also has a mustache and goatee. Definitely not regular army. Also, notice the lack of pant legs being bloused in the two in the background. Typical of CIA type wear. I actually spent time with some of them in South America once on a special op. They used some of our specially equipped C-130’s and did surveillance on local drug operations. They wore standard issue BDU’s any carried M-16’s as well.

Oh, as for the shinny watch being a no-no, you guys watch too many movies. It may be true that it can give away your position in certain circumstance, it would only need to be a pretty stealthy operation before you had to worry about things like that. As for Iraq, the war is over and we are pretty much out in the open for all to see anyway.
