Ok,

I'm pretty new at all this trading business. I have sent a box out to Blueyes and he as not received it as of yet. I did not ensure it nor did I have it tracked.

What is the best way to send packages out to ensure that you dont pay through the nose but still get a timely arrival date?

Any info would be great.

Best way to send is USPS priority mail. It is a 2-3 day service..soo...the less time in the mail, the less time it has to get lost. Then, just add tracking, and it comes out to $4.30 (i think).

pack them like you received them. order your boxes and tape thru the USPS they are free. print your labels online and delivery conf is also free.

i received some gars last week that were stuck in a baggie and dropped in the box. they did not like that. luckily it only ruined one of them.

I have not used Priority mail and confirmations many times because I always thought the main reasons were trust and speed. Many times you can use regular mail and it will get there in the same time frame if it is within 1000 miles or in a major hub city. (You can check delivery times online and comapre)

But, After watching what can happen when a package gets lost, I now only ship with priority and tracking, it takes the stress out of the equation.

And they have a perfect fold-together box (for free) at the post office for priority mail that is strong and perfect for shipments of up to around 8 sticks... they have bigger ones too.

mrtelecom come on we all know that you can put at least 10 in those boxes. LOL

Bubble wrap only and no Delivery Confirmation is not good.

I double box (sometimes with old cigar boxes) and use plenty of packing peanuts so the cigars don't bounce around. USPS Priority with Delivery Confirmation is the only way to ship. I have used First Class with Delivery Confirmation for cigars I gifted. Just won't chance it with trades.

Don't know about you guys but I've had 5 packs from CBid arrive slightly damaged in the small USPS priority boxes. (Usually the shorter robusto sized sticks.) None bad enough to send back though.

I will offer you a favor. Send all your trade packages to me. I will carefully inspect them to make sure you packed them properly. I will then smoke several of the cigars, to make sure they have maintained their freshness. I will then repack what remains, and re-route to the original intended trade recipient.

If you go to the USPS website, you can get a printed priority mail label with FREE tracking ( delivery confirmation). This is about the only way I ship and is very simple and easy. You can opt to pay postage online or just hav the label printed.

There is no difference between shipping first class and priority mail. Can someone please clarify this for me?

I scoped out the page. It seems to me that first class has a 13 ounce limit, and there is no option for "proof of receipt of package" avaiable.
