Baccarat eh? Ya know, they just had an auction for a case of 728 cigars you may be interested in.

Plenty of decent priced cigars here. I could suggest plenty, but you'll probably bid on them anyway in time. We all do. Welcome to the madness.

If you love Baccarat, you'll adore Ashton Classic and Ashton Cabinet series. Both are extremely mild (ala Baccarat) and both are very expensive (but less so on CBid). You'll also want to try the standard AVO line and the AVO XO line. The Griffins is another mild cigar as is the Cusano Exclusivo line. La Aurora Connecticut, Leon Jimenes Connecticut, Cuesta Rey Centenario line, and RomeoyJulieta round out the mid price lines. For a cheaper smoke which is comparable to Baccarat, try V-Centennial, Occidental Reserve round out the bargain category.

Hope this helps,

....mild is one thing, but that sugary cap sucks. If you are drawn to the mild nature of a cigar, then grond's suggestions are very good (they are mild but have good flavors in them).......if it is the sugary cap, then try the Cupido Criollo (specifically the Campana). They are a bit stronger than the Ashton and AVO and much much cheaper, but they have a slightly sweet cap.

As you progress, I promise your tastes will develop and mature. My point: If you hang around here long enough, you will shy away from the Baccs of the industry.

mmmmmmm... *salivates and takes copious notes*

i've never had a bacc -- are all the caps sweet? i have had ashton classic 898s and just had my first CTSH leon jiminez (LOVED that one!). had an AVO notturno (loved that one as well) and a griffin -- though the griffin had a different taste profile from the others that i didn't care for.

May want to give National Brand a try.

Personally I hate sweet tiped cigars but a guy at work smokes them and swears by National Brand, which I believe are less than Baccarats.

Bucanero Crew
D. Diego Reserve
Torano Res. Selecta
Gran Habano
Maxim de Paris

All mild-medium, not hard to find, and priced just a teet-hair above the Baccarat....some much cheaper. All better than the Baccarat,IMHO, for mild w/ bite(taste).

Don't forget the Astral Favorito, natural or candela. Also the Don Asa wheel. Both will compare favorably to the Bacc, in taste and cost (possibly even better with cost). Just my thoughts............

bud451 has the right of it if a baccarat flavor profile is what you're set on. The National Brand is made by the same folks as the Baccarat and is a much more economical cigar. CBid nor Cigars International have carry them except in a few samplers. If you're interested in a cheap source for National, email me at rpope123 at bellsouth dot net.

Baccarat04,

The La Aurora Preferidos Platinum Tubo or the Platinum Maduor Tubo are both "strong" smokes. Their very smooth but an entire world away from the baccarat. If you do indeed get one, make sure that you eat a full meal before smoking. It is very smooth but very strong on the stomach.

Cheers,
