Anyone tried the Gurkha pre-embargos? Are they worth the cost? What about the Gurkha Centurion XX...same question. I can't find any review on them anywhere.

Thanks!

did you type "Gurkha" into the search box? several reviews have been given. I still haven't tried my pre-embargo. chipslave (gave it to me) has and he thinks they're very good - worth about $15, if memory seves...

I love all the other Ghurka's - they're one of my favorite "medium flavored" gar

Love most of the Gurkas. The XX is a very special cigar. One of the few non-cubans you can taste in your gut.

The Ghurka pre-embargos are good. I think I prefer the 1950s over the 1940s and the cost versus experience is a better tradeoff. At the price not a regular thing but worth doing once or twice.

The Centurian XX is a flat-out fabulous cigar.

Agree with X. I tend to like the rank and file of Ghurkas but if I were going to invest in their elite versions I'd probably go for the real thing, hypothetically speaking of course. Just my thoughts............

I have and have had both.
Pre-embargo; good cigar, mild with excellent taste, but to expensive. You can buy the real thing for much cheaper.

XXX; Awsome cigar tons o flavor and exceptional construction. I'm on my third box now.

Actually all the Gurkhas can be found in my stable of gars. I've never met one I didn't like.

So...there seems to be a strong opinion that the preembargos are good but not worth the $...better to just get th e real thing. Great, I like that idea..now of the biq question...do you guys all live in Miami or something?? I've beem ripped off before on the infamous counterfeits. (Yes, the classic Cohibas with all the right seals that were in the box with the glass top..) Ebay and out of country buys must be stopped at customs. Short of this Michigan boy driving into Canada and risking losing everything trying to sneak em back across, I don't h ave a clue how to score them. I understand that the genuines are mighty darn pricey themselves.

My email for helpful tips: [email protected]

I'm open to suggestions!

Thanks!

Thought it was legal to bring up to 2 boxes or 100$ worth of ISOMS back from any out of country trip with you...
