George W Bush payed $35,000,000 in income tax last year! How much do you think he Made? How much more do you think him and his family have to gain from higher energy prices? How many millions more do the Bushs earn for every penny that oil prices go up.

1,000,000 La Luna cigars...and reading the threads on the cigar board, it would be money well spent!
or i suppose you could use it to buy back the scrap plane from china!

Hey Bill, at least the Bush family is honest about their income taxes, more than we can say for your beloved Clinton's! Far more! Here is the answer I was looking for the amount of money it takes to house Billie and Hillie in their respective offices in New York! That is per year...drain the bucks from the taxpayers and fill the deep pockets of the Clinton's! Now go whine and mewl about someother subject besides GWB for a little while! Charlie

"mewl". I wish I thought of that one! Good point, Charlie. It seems that our favorite Uncle is upset that the Bush family makes an honest living and pays high taxes. At what point in our nations history did wealth become a crime????? I suppose you would like Dubya better if he were on perpetual welfare. In fact, I don't just assume this, for I know it is true since Bubba never held an honest job, he didn't inherit money, yet he's extremely wealthy. Hmmm, I guess he did learn a thing or two from Jesse.

i am curious about your source for the 35 mil in taxes. perhaps i am naive, but i wonder why, if
someone has enough money to buy everything he could ever need or want for, for himself, his
family, his friends and anyone he meets, why would he want more. what is the driving force
that must have more money. it is after all only an exchange mechanism to get things that you
can eat, drink, or use.

It's called CURRENT events. Old Bill is out of office, and George is the monkey of the day. What do George SR. and Reagan pay for their offices? Inquiring minds want to know.

Bill, it is funny that you should ask, since Geroge Sr pays around $175,000 per yr and Ronnie pays 265,000 per yr....quite a drop off from Our Boy Bill! Now find some other "wild" story about taxes in the public record, at least the Bush's pay and Joe is right about Bill and his wealth? How the hell did he gain the money he has? Must have won the Arkansas lottery! Charlie

Wealth and what goes with it are relative. Money it self is much more than just an "exchange mechanism". It is the scale by which we can judge success. Wealth that is earned is done so by being a "work-a-holic" in most cases. When one earns a million/yr, the ambitious spirit says raise the bar one more notch. It becomes a fun and exciting challange to out do yourself. What you can do with the money will become secondary to simply reaching the "next level".

Berry C i think you are correct. i guess i always judged success by how much free time i could get to sit on my rear and watch hummingbirds feed, or not having to wear a watch, or taking the kids to see star wars in the middle of the day when there was no line. (the first starwars)

I concur. It is a matter of how one wants to spend thier time, and thier personal goals. I am a work-a-holic who has set the bar high, but when it is time to enjoy lifes pleasure, the cell phone is turned off, pager left on the desk, and work takes a back set to family and friends.

jjohnson28: damn right. if he is too dumb to set up a non profit fund and hide his money there where he can use it for his own personal interests like buying a baseball team and selling it for profit to enrich his fund (after getting the local government to sieze the land under emminent domain and screwing the people that owned the land). since no taxes are paid by non profit funds, he might become rich. sort of like your nemises jesse jackson who managed to steal from the rainbow coalition fund. the problem with jesse was he didn't move the decimal point far enough to the right, but than he is a left wing liberal.

Bill, I am talking about CURRENT events. I simply used Bubba as an example. Bush = rich from legitimate sources. Clinton = rich off of taxpayers and scams. Simple math.

Funny how profit is evil nowadays. Sounds to me like some of you are "complaining" that Dubya has paid more towards the government in ONE YEAR than Clinton has in his entire life. Yet, Clinton owes EVERYTHING he has to the government. No wonder Bubba is so liberal...

the evil is not in the profit, but can be in what you do, and who you take advantage of to get the profit.
