inquiring minds want to know !
Drew Estates makes some good cigar's ...just curious about this monster......tastes ? smoke all at once ? ( a bit much ) or untwist the three and smoke a curled stick ?

The medusa is 3 cigars in one, and when unraveled......three of the most ugly, twisted, about to break cigars are what you are left with.

If there was ever a Novelty cigar, this is it. I think the Egg is atleast somewhat smokeable. The Medusa is not good. I ordered one, and when I decided to smoke it....I was so un-impressed that I threw the other two parts away. It feels like you are holding the Guiness-Book "longest fingernail".

All this....MHO though. Many, many other Novelty smokes that are well-worth the money.

Ok Smelly..... honest enough ! thank's ...... but what about the taste ?........set aside the fact that it is indeed ugly and twisted ( anybody can see that it's purely novelty )..... how did it taste?
i got one and... don't think i am going to smoke 3 in 1 , so i believe if i "can" seperate...."for novelty purposes only" i'll give it a try.....it's just easier if i knew it wasn't half bad when it come to taste.

I had wondered about culebras myself. I finally found a reference that stated the proper way to smoke them is to separate them.

OMG! I just read through this thread again, and now I can't get Tammy Faye Baker and Florence Joyner Kersee out of my mind. Ooooooh fingernails! Yum...Ooops I meant yuk.

The taste I compare to a stronger Puros Indios, with the slight spice of a CAO Black or Short Story Fuente. Those are compliments to the taste, but now just imagine taking a Lonsdale cigar (43x6), and squeezing and twisting the ever-lovin life out of it, until it's a teet-hair away from breaking.

....I like most cigars I have tried, but the Medusa I just can't hold back on. It really got me fired up, cause I have cigars from the dreaded "T" company that I don't even throw away.

If you have one....don't listen to my advice at all. Try your hardest to enjoy it, and maybe I just got a Dud. If I was in the market for an interesting cigar though, I would post an ISO: Between the Lines, or something of the sort.

Disclaimer: All this, MHO.

I shared a culebra with a couple of friends. Once I got over the twisted mess I had in my hand, it was quite nice. The flavor is definitely a Drew Estates concoction, but I enjoyed it. It was mild and had a chocolate undertone to it... other than that, my palate isn't refined enough to (nor is my memory sharp enough to recall) pick out more of the flavors.

It's worth a try anyway.

With this particular item...........you actually have three cigars. Don't really believe that they could all three be smoked at once. There is a story behind this idea, although I can't recall off-hand what it is. Something to do with cigar rollers in olden times were allowed just one cigar for themselves at the end of a days work..........and they came up with the Culebra in order to get three cigars in place of one. Don't really care for them but they are a bit of a novelty, and if the story is true, a bit of history as well. Just my thoughts............
