Anyone know of any good cigar lounges in Northern California? I had to move up here for a new job 5 months ago, and I've found one great Cuban bar/restaurant in Palo Alto with an great lounge and a walk-in stocked with Graycliffs at reasonable prices. But It'd be nice to find other places to relax with a smoke and a drink closer to SF.

Welcome to Northern Cal HHEAVEN, I'm in Fremont and there are a few of us around the Bay Area. We have had a few local herfs here and there, so keep your ears open. My GF and I recently had a few BOTL over to my house and we watched a playoff game as we enjoyed trading smokes and smoking a few too. Come spring time when the weather is better, I'm going to have another one.

What is the name of the bar/lounge that you found in Palo Alto? Unfortunately I don't know of any bars in SF that have a lounge.

Come baseball season, GO GIANTS, there is a brewery/restaraunt on Second St. that has outdoor seating. It is called 21st Amendment and their food and brews are the best!!!

I beleive there is a spot in SF called 850 Montgomery (located at 850 Montgomery ST). That is owner run so the smoking ban does not apply.

Thanks KNOF and Barry. I'll check out your lead Barry. I found a site that used to keep up to date on cigar friendly places everywhere but they kind of dropped off in 2001 so not much is up to date. KNOF, your not to far from me. I'm in San Leandro and work in Mt. View. The place is on College Dr. just off El Camino and it's called La Bodeguita Del Medio. They have their own web site so be sure to look it up. I was just there last night enjoying a CAO gold and a couple potent rum drinks. The place looks small from the front but it has the full bar, restaurant with kick butt Cuban food and the duvan in the back. It has a stock of CI magazines and a couple TV's. Not to mention the humi to die for. I absolutely recommend it. You can take your drinks etc. in the back but the only rule is you need to bus your tables. It's very nice, old furniture, dark wood paneling. Definitely go, get the fried plantains, a couple mojitos and kick back.

Thanks for the lead HHEAVEN!
Drop me an e-mail so I can invite you over to the next Bay Area Herf at my house. There are a good number of us around here and you never know when we will get together.

Found a site that lists various lounges and shops in the Bay Area. Send me an e-mail and I will get you some info. Found one place in SF with a 24 hour lounge.

Hi Beat. Nope, they don't frown on it at all. In fact I think they are rather impressed when I break out the travel humidor. Since this is CA the employees are actually not permitted in the lounge because of the second hand smoke. As long as you're drinking, eating, tipping and cleaning up after yourself they are happy.
Thanks for the hospitality KNOF. I'm at hheaven at verisign dot com. Getting a group over to La Bodeguita could be cool too.
