My uncle looks for old tv's like that and the console stereos too, just to get the cabinets.. He is a woodworker and says you cant find quality wood today like the wood some of those cabinets are made from. Granted some of the "newer" ones are made from pressed particle board so the good ones are becoming harder to find

HEY! That looks like the TV that got stolen from my folks house 25 years ago.

you laugh... but i have one in my garage with the dials on them. that one at least has push buttons.

Wow. My memory eludes me a bit, but I think that is the exact same model we had when I was very young. I will always remember watching cartoons and flipping those little brass handles with me toes.

All I can say is, if it works, it's perfect.

Our biggest TV in the house is 27" coupled up to a $200 surround sound system.

For us poor white trash, it is the next best thing to a theater. Makes us happy.

I have one just like it. I have been thinking of converting it to a humidor. I think it would look great as one. Any suggestions as how to do that? And would it still be ok in a basement after making a humidor out of it?

I do believe it is a "modern classic". It has a very good picture, and excellent sound. I would love to move the 36" into the garage and get a big screen for the family room, but that will have to wait.
