IMHO trading is getting out of line on this board,because some traders give out private home addresses to other traders and IMO this goes to far. Goodbye and Amen.

Ok, I'm guilty. I've done this with the bouncing bomb, But I do this carefully with people's consent or people that I know. Maybe I should be more careful. But I really don't see the harm. It's not like an address isn't very public info...What exactly has you all huffy and puffy?

what is the worst thing that can happen? You may get bombed! I use my business address. Remember, if someone wants to find you, they will, unless you are unlisted and have personal issues with security.

As for listing addressess, those that don't want it listed should let it be known the first time they give it out. Yet you could also argue that the person starting the bombing run should publicly post that they are going to do a bombing run and anyone not wanting their address given out should post now. I think that would be the best course of action to take. Give a reasonable amount of time before starting the run for those to reply. That way you don't eliminate the surprise factor (for those getting bombed) yet you give those that don't want their addy out to opt out.

Did I miss something? Did something bad happen? I imagine something must have spooked him for him to get so upset and leave the boards.

PLEASE DO NOT SHARE ADDRESS INFORMATION WITH ANYONE.

If I offer my addy to a person, that person is now responsible for my privacy, I would expect that privacy to be guarded by all.

I WILL NEVER SHARE ANYONE'S INFO. I do this out of respect for all my brothers on this forum. I was recently approached by a member of this forum asking for a person home addy so they could send smokes. I felt terrible saying no, and he totally understood and was a real gentleman about it. But the fact remains that in this day and age, its dangerous! ! ! !

Please keep our personal info PRIVATE, do not share unless directed (box passes, etc).

I'm guilty in a way ...sending out "secret bombs" i do ask for addresses here and there . it is and invasion of privacy i admit but it's not to do wrong. i figured everyone likes to get that unexpected package...open it up and see some cigars.
I'f i happen to be part of the cause......i am sorry. but on the other hand....if your in a birthday club.....which "you" join willingly ..you've done gave your address to at least 12 people of which you probably only "know" a few. and every time you do a trade....that next person will recieve your address from you so the deal can be completed.

I plead guilty of giving out one persons addy, but it was to a person that the asker had herfed with, and wanted to send a thank you bomb to. I will be more circumspect in the future, due to not wanting to see any other BOTL alienated.

Please do not think I accuse anyone in particular, I am NOT...
my rant is more of a plead to be smart when sharing info.

well, having been asked, i've now explicitly given my permission to a goodly amount of you gents to share my address with anyone they feel is okay.

my assumption is that when i started trading with a lot of different folks, my address would get around, if it was a concern, though, i'm the one who should have said "keep it to yourself; i don't want this spread around, guys."

but that's just me.

I would really like to know what happened to have things come to this kind of end.

If people dont assume this is status quo then why
dont people just post your addy right here for all to see.. no, people shar that info thru personal e-mails just for that fact.. JMHO

Hate to see you go cruiser! Good luck wherever you go. I have to say that I have been on these boards for a couple of years and based on the caliber of people that frequent these forums, especially this one,I don't think there is anything to worry about except who sent the bomb. Feel free to share mine with any BOTL but just limit it to us. Heck Iam still trying to find out who bombed the stuffing out of me about a year ago. If I ever find you, smokes will be flying!!

Don't believe I had the pleasure of a trade with cruiser, but it is sad to see someone with his reputation leave. I was appoached by someone on another board who wanted an address of somehone they knew I had dealt with. I contacted the person whose address he wanted and asked if it was ok to give it to him. In this case it was, but I agree that unless you have the explicit consent of the addressee, you should never give out anyone's address. Just my .02 worth.

the only time I have given anyone someone else's addy is when that person had misplaced the address and I knew they had dealings before...other than that I wouldn't have done it.

It saddens me that Cruiser will leave this forum. He is without a doubt one of the most generous brothers out there. However, I respect your decision and will not try to debate it.
