Who do you see when you look at me?
A man in his prime stepping in time to the beat of success
Or a broken man eyes full of sand and exhausted from the battles within
I am elusive, hard to track down to give a straight quote or a statement profound
I can blend right in, in sickness and sin or speak with bold words of accord
But who do you seek the strong or the meek that is who you’ll see in my eyes
Both reside here yea courage and fear laughter and tears brick walls and veneers
So, who do you seek the strong or the meek that’s who you’ll see in my eyes
Don’t be afraid don’t run away don’t leave me to play with the wind
A bar I need set a mind to be met an expectation to be set for me to respond
This I do seek from the strong and the meek for I cant decide who to be
Afraid to give in to the temptation of sin but not the courage to withstand
So, who do you see when you look at me?
A pity a shame a scapegoat to blame a man without aim?
Or a man on a mission in a unique position to repair damage he’s done
Yes here I am eyes full of sand a cross in my hand member of a band of rebels
Hell bent to win, to no longer sin
Here I too am with sweet words of prophecy and of love. I am a sinner trying to be a winner of the crown that I was promised long ago.
If I just only knew efforts need to be few since the crown I’ve already dawned - Patman
