Thanks for all the kind words. No real need to thank me, I loved every minute of the last twenty years. What I could possibly do now that will be anywhere near as satisfying is the hard part.

My retirement ceremony was last Friday, the 20th. I am now on terminal leave. For you non-military types that means I am using all the unused leave I have accrued until my official retirement date of 1 May 2004. Hopefully I’ll find a job before that because that retirement check isn’t much to speak of. it’s a little something in your pocket but you sure can’t live on it.

I was planning on having my retirement party last weekend but I have postponed it until march when one of my best friends returns from a tour in Korea. Instead I spent a quiet evening at home drinking some 12 year old scotch and I smoked, among other things, an Opus-X gifted to me some time back by IceMan219 and my last ISOM, a Partagas series D #3.
(BTW, If any of you have heard from Mike (IceMan219) lately let me know. I have been trying to get in touch with him)

If the job market here doesn’t improve I may take you up on that “bookkeeping position” you offered. The only thing is I’ll have to pass on the dress blues. They don’t seem to fit anymore. A little to tight, I guess its all the time I’ve spent in the “gym” lately, yea, that’s it, I’m just too damn “buff”, especially my abs!!! 😉
