How many birds do you have Rick?


My sister and brother-in-law used to be breeders.They had some real expensive birds at one time. I dont know the names of them all. But the most expensive ones they had were kind of pinkish. They paid like 5 grand or so for them and they never had eggs. Had them sexed twice. Man they got pissed. I didnt get to go into the bird house much. Something about new people and upsetting the birds. But when I did they had these two African Greys that would scream so freakin loud i wanted to strangle them.

That is beautiful! Your Mrs. sure has talent with glass. Hmmm.... maybe she could make one that had a cigar theme. You could hang it up in "your little corner of the world"... I remember seeing that pic a long time ago here. Really, I think a cigar themed glass wall hanging would look pretty cool. Again, beautiful artwork. I look forward to seeing more of her work.

every time i see a sun conjure i want it. they are all so different in color and yet they are all the same.

i had a maroon belly conjur that was given to me by a bird store. no one else could get near the bird without getting bit, a fact i didn't know until i had him laying on his back in my hand while i was scratching his belly.

imagine living in australia and attracting birds to your feeder and instead of sparrows, you have a back yard full of rosellas.

i hand raised a gold mantle rosella, but the bugger couldn't stand any one. i gave her to the lady that owns a canary store and the next time i went in to visit, the bird was sitting on her shoulder and preening her hair.

people that are not bird people cannot imagine the colors that all these birds have.

the rose breasted cockatoo and the grey's primary food is katee rainbow supplemented with some people food. the only seed they get is millet stripped from the branch and some larger millet called jumbo treat sprays, a kind of larger millet for the grey.

My winter breeders are on eggs, (Alexandrine Parakeets), and it's almost spring for all the others. I thinks it's going to be a good year. I'll post some photos when I have chicks.

he has a very large vocabulary. he just picks things up as he wants. he will count with me if i am lucky.

the quickest thing he learned was the day he bit me and i tapped him on the beak and said "don't you f'ing bite me." he went for that one immediately. i have eliminated the f from his vocabulary.

he loves to sit on my shoulder in front of the computer and listen to music. i've tried, but he won't sing.
